Development for our founder in the 2022 Elevate+ Accelerator program

Elevate+ Accelerator program

Elevate+ and Impact Boom

Elevate+ is a program funded by the Queensland Government and run by Impact Boom to help social entrepreneurs to develop sustainable and scalable enterprises that create positive social impact.

After a highly competitive, region-wide application process, Barbara is one of 13 chosen entrepreneurs that have shone through as a hard working, passionate leader striving to create a positive impact and to prove that it’s absolutely possible to do good and make money.

For the next 18 weeks, Barbara will be attending a hybrid of delivered training and mentoring sessions online and in-person to help gain a better understanding of how to successfully build and scale a social enterprise such as Sweet Peanuts.

Later this year, Barbara will have an opportunity to pitch at an event in the city to gain further attention and awareness of Sweet Peanuts and its positive impact on friends, family, bereaved parents, and the healthcare system in Australia.

What is Impact Boom

Founded by Tom Allen, Impact Boom is a certified social enterprise that facilitates capacity building programs, accelerators, and impact-led business programs such as Elevate+, FFWD, iActivate and HATCH to encourage entrepreneurs to create impact in Australia and globally.

Their goals are:

  • To provide communities with the tools, skills, and resources to pursue social enterprise as a viable way to combat community issues
  • Creating awareness of social enterprise that encourages greater support and investment
  • Using a system approach to improve and develop social policy.

Impact Boom is one of many organisations that have partnered with the Social Enterprise World Forum for the 2022 Brisbane event.

Social Enterprise World Forum

In 2008, more than 400 delegates from 29 countries congregated in Edinburgh, Scotland with one goal: to raise awareness of social enterprise as an expanding global mechanism for social change.

The Social Enterprise World Forum (SEWF) was the first event of its kind. SEWF provided an opportunity for social enterprise leaders and practitioners from around the world to network and exchange ideas.

Now in 2022, and co-hosted by White Box Enterprises, SEWF has come to Brisbane!

Designed by and for social enterprises, this year’s programme of events features a Youth Forum, Bus Tours, Academic Symposium, and more!

Sweet Peanuts is looking forward to attending this action-packed event later this year.
